Maida Martinez

Maida is an artist born in Caracas, Venezuela, and holds a Bachelor Degree in Creative Design Business Management. After working several years as a designer, she decided it was time to see the world and experience new cultures.  In 2013, while living in the Netherlands, Maida returned to her long-forgotten passion of painting during some advanced courses on painting techniques.

Her love for painting has given Maida the joy of capturing her daily inspiration on paper and canvas and has opened a new dimension of communication with the people who experience her art.

Since then, Maida has participated in different international events, including the Museum Market in Amsterdam, the Parallax Art Fair in London, the Winter Fair in the International School of Amsterdam, Exposition Achelse Kluis in Belgium, and the Aruba Art Fair.

Her paintings can be found across the globe, in Canada, the US, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, The Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain, Italy, England, Japan, and The Philippines.

After living in the Netherlands for 14 years, Maida has now lived in Aruba with her husband and two children for three years and has established herself as a local artist.

“How people interpret my paintings, How the colors I use carry across the emotions I put into them, really brings me great joy and inspires me to continue”

Maida works predominantly with epoxy resin and has a full collection of ocean-inspired art. The art takes its own path, flows freely, and brings alive the sensation of Aruba’s oceans.  It enables people to continue to experience the feeling of the happy island in their homes. This gives   Maida enormous satisfaction and inspiration.

Maida’s canvas painting as well as her epoxy resin art is created with vibrant acrylic pigments and real Aruban beach sand (Memories of Aruba). Her Art includes canvas paintings, home décor items and a full collection of jewelry (Art to Wear).
